    Shakira Left Shaken After Encounter With Sea Lion

    It appears the She Wolf is no match for the sea lion.

    On Sunday morning, Shakira hit her Facebook page to recount her encounter with the ocean creature - an encounter which left her terrifired.

    "This afternoon I happened to see some sea lions and seals. I thought to myself how cute they were so I decided to get a bit closer than all of the other tourists and went down to a rock trying to pet them doing a baby talk while taking pictures," Shakira wrote on her Facebook page.

    "Suddenly, one of them jumped out of the water so fast and impetuously that it got about one foot away from me, looked me in the eye, roared in fury and tried to bite me," she added.

    The Colombian pop superstar said the mammal left her "paralyzed by fear."

    "I just kept eye contact with it while my brother 'Super Tony' jumped over me and literally saved my life, taking me away from the beast," she continued. "We both got our hands and legs scratched by the rocks while trying to protect ourselves."

    Shakira blamed the animal's outburst on the glare off her mobile device.

    "I believe what happened is that it confused the shiny reflection of the blackberry I was taking these pics with, with some sort of fish," she noted. "It probably thought I was teasing it with food and then taking it away from it."

      Shakira is like so many that watch too many commercials where people hug wild animals. Hey Shakira don't approach a polar bear either they are not really glad that you drive a Prius.

      Well, no, it wasnt a glare from her device....it was the stupidity of thinking she could enter an animals territory without consequences...she is awesome entertainer, but pretty uninformed in regards to animal behavior...she had better start learning about animals before she thinks to do something this stupid again.

        I am a wild animal, but if she tried to pet me, I would gladly allow her to approach me! Honestly though, she was not using her head when she tried to get close to that animal. I have had encounters with sea lions when I lived in California...Believe me, I gave them plenty of space.

      It turned out only to be Rosie O'Donnell, not a sea lion. Sea Lions aren't as fat, hairy, and ill tempered.

      I wonder if she realizes that she just admitted to commiting a federal offense on facebook? I've rescued and rehabilitated marine mammals for almost 5 years.... a lot of the so called "orphans" wouldn't have been in that situation if the humans had given them their space and left them alone.

      Um, wild animals are called wild for a reason. They might seem like babies but remember that they are babies with sharp teeth and a nasty additude, especially around their babies.

      It was not the glare of the phone. People need to realize that animals no matter how cute they look are dangerous. Man is a threat to them, more people have been attacked or killed because they thought they were cute. Just ask the anchorwomen that got 70 stitches because she thought the Mastiff was cute.
