‘Dancing with the Stars’ Results Shocker: What Went Wrong for Kristin Cavallari?

Kristin Cavallari got the boot this week on "Dancing With The Stars" -- but was she deserving?

Stories were told this week on "Dancing with the Stars," but it was the final chapter for one unlucky couple. MTV reality star Kristin Cavallari headed for the hills after she was eliminated from the show Tuesday night in a shocking elimination that has left her fans-- and Mark Ballas' followers-- stunned.

On Monday night, Cavallari and Ballas danced a sexy samba to Beyonce's "Crazy in Love," scoring a respectable 24 points and garnering big time kudos from the judges.

Cavallari's ex fiancé, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, was even in the audience to cheer her on, as she celebrated her "story" about the year 2005, the pivotal year she graduated from high school and moved to Los Angeles.

But something went terribly wrong for "The Hills" vixen when it came to the viewer votes.

While Chaz Bono's fans voted in droves (his rumba with partner Lacey Schwimmer scored only 18 points from the judges), and Nancy Grace's "Moon River" waltz with newbie pro partner Tristan MacManus pushed her through to safety with only 21 points, Cavallari's MTV fan base didn't come through for her.

After the elimination announcement, a stunned Tom Bergeron told Cavallari that it was likely that fans assumed she and Ballas were safe and simply didn't bother to vote.

Judge Len Goodman declared "Stop the madness!" and even hinted that he thought Cavallari and Ballas could have been contenders for the show's finals.

Cavallari's early ousting is one week earlier than MTV bad boy The Situation's was when he competed on the show back in Season 11. The Sitch and Karina Smirnoff were eliminated in Week 4 after doing a robotic argentine tango.

And Cavallari's "Hills" nemesis, Audrina Patridge, also fared better when she competed on the show last year. Patridge wasn't eliminated until Week 6.

Of course, "Dancing With the Stars" fans who had never heard of Cavallari before she stepped out on the dance floor this season probably weren't impressed at first. Cavallari's "I'm a bitch" intro package featured one of her tackier, mean girl "Hills" scenes. Not exactly the way to win friends and influence people.

After last night's results show Cavallari tweeted to her fans: "I honestly love u guys. I've been reading ur tweets and it means the world to me. I'm so freakin sad! But I had the best experience."

Meanwhile, her premature elimination just goes to show that in order to make it far on "Dancing With the Stars," a star needs to possess a mix of grace, elegance-- and a really loyal fan base.
