Girl Power has conquered the moodiest man in British music.
At the Olympics Closing Ceremony on Sunday night, the Spice Girls buried the hatchet with rival Liam Gallagher, former frontman for '90s Britpop outfit Oasis.
Both acts added some retro flavour to the proceedings. Although Oasis broke up in 2009, Gallagher and his new band Beady Eye performed Oasis's biggest hit, "Wonderwall," while the Spice Girls reunited to sing "Wannabe" and "Spice Up Your Life."

It seems like, prior to the show, organizers waited with bated breath for the acts to meet. In 1997, the year Geri Halliwell wore her infamous Union Jack dress to the Brit Awards, the Spice Girls and Gallagher had a public battle.
Prior to the Brit Awards ceremony, the Oasis frontman had said he was avoiding the event "because if I bump into the Spice Girls I will smack them."
Upon winning Best British Single for "Wannabe," the Spice Girls took the stage and Melanie Chisholm, aka Sporty Spice, called out to Gallagher from the podium: "I just wanna say, Liam, come and have a go if you think you're hard enough!"
(Sporty Spice's challenge starts at the 3:05 mark.)
But Gallagher appeared to have softened up for the 2012 Olympics. Sunday afternoon, Melanie Brown (aka Scary Spice) posted a photo of four of the Spice Girls hugging the rocker, who held up the No. 1 sign.
"Happy times!" she tweeted.

In response, Mel C harked back to her fight with Gallagher with the message, "Love @liamgallagher 'come and 'ave a go!'"
Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) tweeted another photo with Gallagher later on that showed the group had hung out throughout the night.
"Party till the break of dawn, and Mel is still l in her outfit #spicegirlsolympics," she wrote.
We guess Gallagher wanted to spice up his life.
