Get out your costumes, unwrap your lollipops, and start stretching your fingers for prolonged peace signs, because we're about to get hit with a whole lot more Girl Power!
With a sold-out reunion tour behind them, it's clear the appeal of the Spice Girls didn't die when they hung up their platforms. In fact, it's only gotten stronger now that their legion of pint-size fans have grown up into adults with a soft spot for nostalgia -- and some disposable income in their bank accounts.
The Spice Girls already have a musical called "Viva Forever" in the works, but it also appears that there is a "warts and all" documentary about the fivesome's rocket to fame. We're sure there are quite a few catfights and skeletons that 90 minutes of one-on-one interviews and behind-the-scenes footage would reveal.
But all this depends on whether one stonefaced but incredibly coiffed lady gives the go-ahead.
Victoria Beckham has undoubtedly become the hottest Spice since the band's breakup (with a clothing line and a TV show, not to mention a family with a world-famous soccer player), and now the film's producers say the doc won't go forward without her participation.
It's fine to not want a film crew dissecting your personal life, but whoever thought Posh Spice would be calling the shots? The one who never said or did anything during the Spice Girls' heyday now gets to decide the careers of her former gal pals. While her cohorts were high-kicking and getting their tongues pierced, Beckham must have been quietly concocting her plan to marry famous and build a fashion empire (a plan that she has pulled off flawlessly).
However, if Posh gives her consent, the documentary will air around the time of the premiere of "Viva Forever" in December.
