At yesterday's MTV Video Music Awards, Rihanna stepped onto the red carpet in a stunning white gown and a jet black pixie cut - a far cry from the Diana Ross-inspired hair and flashy resort wear she sported throughout most of the summer while on a Mediterranean yacht vacation.

But more than a new look, Rihanna apparently has a new attitude towards her ex Chris Brown. After receiving the Video of the Year award for "We Found Love," MTV cameras caught an off-air moment between the two former lovers. The singer was spotted receiving a kiss on the lips from Brown as she was making her way to her seat after collecting her award for Video of the Year. Rihanna happily greeted Brown with a hug and a pat on his bleached blond head.
She also had an embrace - a longer one - with the man beside Brown, Bu Thiam, a VP at her label, Def Jam, and brother to Akon.
In an interview with Oprah in her home country of Barbados, Rihanna revealed that she still has strong feelings for Brown, who infamously assaulted her in 2009, which lead to a restraining order that ended in February.

"I think he was the love of my life. He was the first love, and I see that he loved me the same way," she said, but making it clear they are not in a romantic relationship anymore. ""He's in a relationship of his own. I'm single. But we have maintained a very close relationship...We just worked on it little by little, and it has not been easy. "
And though Rihanna says she's still in love with the "Turn Up The Music" singer, we have to hope that their civility remains platonic (Joan Rivers would agree!).
And with her new sleek, classy look - we bet Rihanna won't have to look very far to find another suitor to treat her right!
