Morgan Spurlock gets ‘Mansome’ (omg! Canada exclusive)

Morgan Spurlock has turned his attention from burgers to beefcakes.

The "Super Size Me" documentary maker's new web series, "Mansome," which launched on Yahoo! Canada Screen this week, offers men daily advice on how to become more, well, manly. Unlike Spurlock's other Yahoo! series, "Failure Club," it is hard to fail at the simple guide on grooming, sports, and surviving in the outdoors.

"Mansome" is a spin-off of the documentary of the same name, which was directed by Spurlock and executive produced by "Arrested Development" stars Will Arnett and Jason Bateman. In it, the two actors tried to find out what it means to be a man in the age of metrosexuality.

Omg! Canada spoke to Spurlock on the phone from New York about his new series, the mansomest man in Hollywood, and who he thinks could use a few grooming tips.

How did you come up with the idea for "Mansome"?
The documentary came about from a conversation that I had with Will Arnett and Jason Bateman. We talked about making a film that would explore this kind of ridiculous world of "manscaping." After we made the film we talked to our friend at Yahoo!, where we were already doing "Failure Club," and they talked about wanting to create a series for men. We said we'd already been talking about spinning off "Mansome" and it all just made sense.

    So, what defines a man?
    A well-groomed moustache and a very clean-shaven back.

You shaved your moustache recently. Did you feel different without it?
You ever see those little dogs and they have no hair? I felt like I looked like one of those dogs. I looked like one of those very sad hairless animals. But I also looked 10 years younger suddenly. I looked like that hairless dog's little brother.

Is that why you grew it back?
I grew it back mainly because my five-year-old son was traumatized after I shaved it off.

What will you teach your son when he's about to become a man?
I already bought him a razor.

Do fathers even teach their kids how to shave anymore, what with YouTube and everything?
He has a little fake plastic razor. Like, when I shave, he'll get up on the sink next to me and shave with his fake razor. So I feel like the day he does start to shave he'll already know how.

Who's the manliest man in Hollywood?
I think George Clooney is a very mansome man. Channing Tatum seems like a pretty mansome guy — he won me over in "21 Jump Street" because he actually has a sense of humor. Chris Hemsworth is mansome. What about Ryan Gosling?

I think you're more attractive than Ryan Gosling.
    I completely agree with you.

Who could use some "Mansome" help?
Who's the hairiest man in Hollywood? We saw Steve Carrell get waxed already. For some reason I feel like Jack Black needs a good grooming.

You've travelled widely for your various documentaries. What is the mansomest place in the world?
I feel like Monaco. I don't know why, I've never been to Monaco. James Bond likes to gamble there so it must be perfect.

What do you think of Canadian men?
I think anybody who likes to drink and play hockey as much as you guys. That's what being a man is all about.
