Kate Gosselin opens up to Dr. Drew about her love life

Kate Gosselin has revealed that the man who can "deal" with her eight kids will most likely be The One.

The 36-year-old former "Kate Plus 8" star opened up about her "lonely" single life to Dr. Drew on his "Lifechangers" program this week.

Though the mother of eight started out by saying she was "too busy" to forge a love life, she admitted her friends often ask her who she would meet who would be able to handle her famous brood.

"My answer is always, 'If they can deal with eight kids in our situation, it will probably be the person,'" Gosselin said. "It will sort of prove it."

Being outnumbered by so many children, the famous divorcée admitted that "the odds are so against" her ever since she split from ex-hubby Jon in 2009.

But she has one thing going for her: Gosselin doesn't expect her man to financially support her brood.

"They're mine; that's my job," she said.

Gosselin admitted that "the most" she wants is for someone to support her when she's trying to corral her kids.

"I've got all the barking, I just need the back up," she told Dr. Drew.

She explained the "need is going to be greater" as her kids grow up and start "pushing" more. But that doesn't mean she will jump right into another 10-year romance.

"I don't know if I feel ready for that," she said.

as a single mother of two..I understand the way she feels when the kids are in bed and your left alone with your thoughts..but thats when you become a stronger woman and know that the example you set for kids is that you can do it!! No matter how tough and lonely it can be the satisfaction is knowing that your kids knew you didnt need a man to "help" do it!!! For lack of better words " man up Kate"..lol :)

  you're not forced to watch TLC much then are you? the only redeemable thing about that station is tales of the ER. Man the things trauma surgens and ER physicians must see.

She needs to face reality and realize that no one wants to raise someone else's eight
children. Two would be a turn off for most people, let alone eight! In fact she should
forget about meeting Mr. Wonderful until the kiddies are grown and out of the house.
Nothing wrong with having a boyfriend, but don't expect him to want to spend all kinds
of time with the children. Sounds harsh, but that is reality.

Sorry but her main concern right now is her kids, a guy later on when then kids are older and they can pick up after themselves, take showers on their own, do homework etc.. all that was in her head in the beginning was the money she could get for doing a tv show. Even shows like that ends. Everyone knows what her attitude is when things don't get done her way. I came from a family of 16 and the olders ones helped our mom when we were asked. No, we weren't very religious, meaning we did go to Sunday School and Church, sang in the choir, that's all our parents wanted, to have manners, help others when we can, not to expect any money for helping, do well with school, and obey laws among everyday living. Kate can't expect her oldest ones to do all the work when the young ones are all the same age but I'm sure they do more then what a normal kid does. She doesn't need a man right now, it will take the time away from the kids that need it now, some men do housechores...but...they still want attention ...sometimes more than kids.

I just hope for her sake the nasty personality was not something created by the producers of the show. If so it sure has backfired and probably caused her a long life as a single woman and tough road raising those kids on her own.

anyone who ever saw even part of the show will know she did not come off as a nice nurturing person. unfortunately it was always on in the staff room, so i did see the show. she was constantly yelling and always pointed out her then husbands faults. i dont think it is the kids who scare the men off, it is the thought of having to put up with that bitch
