Evan Rachel Wood may have moved on from former fiancé, shock rocker Marilyn Manson, but that doesn't mean the actress has forgotten her love for all things goth.
"The Ides of March" star revealed the tattoo at the Critics' Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Jan. 12. The ink is an excerpt from the Edgar Allan Poe poem "A Dream Within a Dream," and says, "All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream."
(Hmm… perhaps she just really liked "Inception"?)
The American-born Poe (1809-1849) is known for his haunting and often macabre stories and poems. (Popular tales include "The Masque of the Red Death," "The Fall of the House of Usher" and "The Raven.")
The tat is a tad surprising, given that Wood left her spooky ex-beau in 2010 for a more cheerful lad. Wood is now reportedly engaged to "Tintin" actor Jamie Bell, who isn't quite as macabre as Manson... or Poe. In fact, both Wood and Bell have tattoos of the first initial of their names, which they got back when they dated in 2005.
Wonder what Bell thinks of his lady's ink?
