Christina Aguilera threatens to sue website over child abuse claims

Christina Aguilera is not pleased with an internet report which implied she may have caused the black eye seen in photographs on her three-year-old son Max. And, according to TMZ, she is now threatening to take legal action against MediaTakeOut.com, the website that made the insinuation.

Aguilera's attorney, Eric Greenspan, sent a letter to the site in response to the story they ran under the headline: "CHILD ABUSE???? CHRISTINA AGUILERA'S SON IS PHOTO'D WITH A BLACK EYE!!!"

Greenspan wrote, "Christina is a wonderful mother and was not present in the park when Max fell and hurt himself... To imply that she had something to do with this incident, without any investigation on your part whatsoever, is reckless and unconscionable."

He then evoked Joe Welch's address to Sen. Joe McCarthy (seriously! the whole letter is really worth a read...), before threatening to sue the site -- which has since removed the child abuse reference from the headline -- and then signing off with "HAVE YOU NO SHAME!!!!"

Meanwhile, Aguilera arrived in Hawaii yesterday, Max and boyfriend Matt Rutler in tow.
