Pamela Anderson may have bombed out of "Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars" on Tuesday night, but the biggest bombshell of the evening was Justin Bieber and his leather onesie.
The 18-year-old Ontario native appeared on the first results show of the season to perform a highly choreographed rendition of "As Long As You Love Me," and he wore what appeared to be a black leather jumpsuit, complete with drop-pants and diagonal zippers.
Though Entertainment Weekly compared the outfit to MC Hammer's infamous parachute pants ("Quit trying to make leather Hammer pants happen, Justin Bieber," writer Annie Barrett tweeted), Bieber's bottoms looked more like the updated harem pants that contributed to what Glamour magazine called "harem hysteria" in 2007.
Celebrities have kept the harem trend on life support over the years, most notably with Fergie wearing brightly-coloured drop-crotches in 2009. And this July, Kanye West stepped out in leather harem pants similar to Bieber's (without the attached tank top) for a date with girlfriend Kim Kardashian.
"In the entertainment industry nowadays, you can expect anything," pro dancer Louis Van Amstel told EOnline after taking in Bieber's look.
While Bieber was pushing the boundaries of fashion on stage, fellow Canadian Pamela Anderson was being pushed off stage. The "Baywatch" beauty was the first star to be voted off this season, along with pro partner Tristan MacManus, having earned the lowest score during last night's first performance of the season.
"I was ready for it, for sure," she said. "We got the lowest score, but we'll keep dancing, we'll dance together again for sure."
