    • In the wake of cast member Shain Gandee's (l.) tragic death, MTV has canceled the reality show. (MTV)

America's glimpse into the lives of nine Wild, Wonderful West Virginians is coming to an end.

A week after the death of "Buckwild" cast member Shain Gandee, MTV has pulled the plug on the reality series.

"After careful consideration, MTV will not be moving forward with season two of 'Buckwild' in West Virginia," the network said in a statement Wednesday. "We love the cast and the show and this was not an easy decision, but given Shain's tragic passing and essential presence on the show, we felt it was not appropriate to continue without him."

However, a previously taped special will air this weekend.

    • Alec Baldwin may host a late-night talk show on NBC. (Jason Kempin/Getty Images)

Late night is getting shaken up even more. After it was announced last week that Jimmy Fallon would be taking over Jay Leno's "The Tonight Show," rumours began that Seth Meyers is being sized up to replace Jimmy Fallon on "Late Night." Now, more rumours a stirring with news that Alec Baldwin might get his own late night NBC gig, too.

While planning is still in its "initial stages," Baldwin would (potentially) host "Last Call," the half-hour show now belonging to Carson Daly, who's also currently hosting NBC's "The Voice." This isn't necessarily surprising: Baldwin's been a favourite "Saturday Night Live" host since the 1990s, and his role as Jack Donaghy on "30 Rock" has earned him critical and commercial praise (not to mention actual awards). Throw his podcast ("Here's The Thing," which has seen guests like Lena Dunham and Chris Rock) into the mix, and you've got the makings of a good late night show host -- one that appeals to younger, up-and-coming generations, too.

    • A woman must be quite something to steal the heart of a king.

As the beautiful healer Talisa on "Game of Thrones," Oona Chaplin is all fire to Robb Stark's ice. She's certainly melted his heart, so much that the would-be king broke an important engagement promise to marry Talisa instead.

Chaplin doesn't just play a queen, though; she's Hollywood royalty off-screen, as well. Yes, she is related to that Chaplin, who has been called "the first truly great figure of twentieth-century fame." In the book "Fame in the 20th Century" by Clive James, the author wrote, "'The Tramp' was from the twentieth century. Thanks to the nearly universal reach of silent film, [Charlie Chaplin] was the most recognizable figure on Earth. And the man who played the role made himself famous too." Paying tribute to her grandfather, the "Thrones" star rocked his signature bowler hat on the red carpet of the show's premiere.

Here are five things to know about the 26-year-old actress:

Oona Chaplin arrives at the premiere of HBO's 'Game Of Thrones' Season 3 at TCL Chinese Theatre on March 18, 2013 in Hollywood, California.1. She's

    • Rob Lowe Suffered Migraines to Transform His Handsome Face for ‘Behind the Candelabra’

Did you catch that glimpse of Rob Lowe in the "Behind the Candelabra" trailer? Or maybe you didn't recognize the "Parks and Recreation" star (around the :40 mark) as plastic surgeon Dr. Jack Startz, whose own face had been the subject of quite a bit of surgical revamping.

Startz plays a key role in the HBO movie about Vegas legend Liberace and his relationship with his young lover, Scott Thorson: He's the doc Liberace turned to when he decided he wanted Thorson to not only live like him, but look like him.

Startz's mug may have served as his calling card to patients who sought his silicone injection treatments to sculpt their features, but Lowe says transforming his own handsome face to look like Startz for "Behind the Candelabra" required an elaborate combination of tape, elastic, and wigs that left him with serious headaches during the movie's production.

    • Lisa Vanderpump and Gleb Savchenko perform on "Dancing With the Stars." (ABC)SPOILER ALERT: This recap reveals the elimination results of Week 4 of "Dancing With the Stars."

After a week of emotional dances that featured best years and plenty of tears, Tuesday night's "Dancing With the Stars" marked the end of the road for one star -- and her little dog, too. On the Week 4 results show, reality star Lisa Vanderpump was eliminated from the competition following a rocky week that had pro boxer Victor Ortiz joining her in the bottom two.

During this week's rehearsals, reality star Vanderpump passed out on camera while rehearsing the cha cha with pro partner Gleb Savchenko. And while Monday night's show had the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star making a last-minute decision on whether or not she'd be able to dance, in the end she pulled through. But the missed rehearsal time had her missing a few steps.

On her blog for People, Lisa addressed the viral infection that landed her in the hospital this week. "Between trying to fight [the virus] and

    • After putting Al Pacino in a fright wig to play Phil Spector, HBO is cranking out another delightfully trashy biopic next month with "Behind the Candelabra," based on Scott Thorson's tell-all book about his five-year affair with famed pianist Liberace. Michael Douglas and Matt Damon dive into these pulpy waters headfirst as Liberace and Scott, and this first-look trailer certainly gives us an eyeful… in many respects.

It opens with the much younger Scott meeting Liberace backstage and gushing over his performance: "You were incredible out there." A heavily made-up Liberace looks very pleased to make Scott's acquaintance: "This must be fate," he says, while giving Scott a thorough once-over with his eyes.

Liberace pulls Scott into his glitzy world, hiring Scott to chauffeur him onstage in a Rolls-Royce during his Vegas act. We see Damon looking ripped climbing out of Liberace's swimming pool in a tiny white Speedo, as Scott enjoys his first taste of the good life. Last month, Damon

The time has come. After waiting, waiting, and waiting some more, "Mad Men" returns this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on AMC for a two-hour dramatic extravaganza.

The era? Late '60s. The clothes? Colourful. The sideburns? Growing. And between the civil rights movement and Vietnam, the gang at and around Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce are in for quite the experience... we assume. Here are ten things we hope the season will deal with.

Here's a little-known fact: The "Cheers" theme song started out sounding much different than the one we know and love. In fact, it was a different song entirely.

It took a few false starts and countless revisions, but songwriters Gary Portnoy and Judy Hart Angelo eventually crafted a timeless theme song: "Where Everybody Knows Your Name," the sentimental, piano-driven bar ballad that preceded all 275 episodes of "Cheers."

With the "Cheers" theme heading into the Final Four of our Theme Song Thunderdome bracket, we spoke to Portnoy (who also sang the theme) this week about how "Where Everybody Knows Your Name" came to be. And he told us a story almost as long and convoluted as one of Cliff Clavin's meandering tales. But one that ends happily: with the creation of one of the best TV theme songs of all time.

      From "Preppies" to "Cheers"

The story begins in the fall of 1981, when Portnoy and Hart Angelo were writing songs for a Broadway musical called "Preppies." One of those songs,

Canadians know we're funny. Our export list is long, our comedy landscape is thriving, and thanks to Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook, being physically in Canada seems to matter a little less than it did before. But speaking of physical location, Colin Mochrie is heading to America (The CW, specifically) to reprise his spot on the upcoming "Whose Line Is It Anway?" reboot, which makes for a very exciting chapter in Canadian comedy.

Hosted by Aisha Taylor ("Archer") and co-starring former cast mates Wayne Brady and Ryan Stiles, the improv-based series will premiere on Tuesday, July 16. Clearly, this is exciting for two reasons: the first, because "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" earned a special place in our laughter-loving hearts, and the second, because the talents of Colin Mochrie will once again be recognized on an international scale.

    • Debra Messing dishes to omg! on her new show. (Startraksphoto)Debra Messing is ready for a fresh start.

The Emmy-winning actress has just signed on to star in a new CBS sitcom pilot and recently completed a cross-country move.

After NBC announced this month that Messing's musical drama "Smash" is moving to Saturday nights — a terrible sign for the future of the low-rated show — Messing agreed to take the lead in the untiled project. (She quickly shot down reports that she was leaving "Smash," but admitted to fans via Twitter that the timeslot move "doesn't bode well.")

During a chat with omg!, the 44-year-old elaborated on what led her to accept the role of Shira, a married mom who struggles to have it all.

"It's a rare thing when I read something and it feels sort of fresh and new to me, and a lot of it just has to do with the timing of when I get a script, but I read this one, and it made me laugh out loud," Messing explained. "I thought, 'You know what? I'm ready to laugh again. And also, I'd be working with two producers from 'Sex and the
