The 2012 Toronto International Film Festival is only one day away and star stalkers should prepare to hit the ground running, since opening night will be packed with celebrities.
The hottest ticket, less because of the film than its leading lady, is Kristen Stewart's new movie "On the Road," Walter Salles' adaptation of the beatnick bible, which premieres Thursday night. In her first appearance post-scandal, Stewart walk the red carpet and may actually take part in her first interview, MTV's "Movie Night" with Josh Horowitz, that same day.Gordon-Levitt, Willis, and Blunt. While Twi-hards are stalking Toronto's Ryerson Theatre, Joseph Gordon-Levitt fans will make their way to Roy Thomson Hall and the Elgin Theatre for the opening night gala, "Looper." Rian Johnson's indie sci-fi thriller is about a hitman tasked with killing his future self (Bruce Willis), who has been sent back in time. Both actors are set to appear on the red carpet, along with co-star Emily Blunt.Urban, Thirlby, and Headey. (WireImage)
Sci-fi fans will have a big day ahead of them since Thursday also sees the premiere of "Dredd 3D" as part of Midnight Madness. Unrelated to "Judge Dredd" but an adaptation of the same comic, the action flick revolves around a futuristic city in which police have sole authority and the eponymous hero must stop a gang peddling the reality-altering drug, SLO-MO. Look out for stars Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby and Lena Headey (better known as the evil Queen Cersei from "Game of Thrones") at the premiere.Cotillard. (Getty Images)
French star Marion Cotillard will also walk the red carpet Thursday night for the premiere of "Rust and Bone." In the Belgian mystery directed by Jacques Audiard she plays a woman whose brother comes to live with her family in Antibes .Whitman, Gadon, and Driver. (Getty Images)
Elsewhere that night, Jason Reitman will host a live reading of "American Beauty." The filmmaker announced some of the cast on Twitter yesterday: "Parenthood's" Mae Whitman will play the role of Jane (which was originated by Thora Birch), Canadian actress and "Cosmopolis" star Sarah Gadon will play her Lolita-esque friend Angela (originally Mena Suvari), and "Girls'" resident bad boy Adam Driver will take up Wes Bentley's role, Ricky Fitts.

But don't worry if you can't make it to the reading or the red carpets, because you can always strap on your party shoes after hours. Following the world premiere of "Looper," the opening night TIFF party takes place at Maple Leaf Square at the Air Canada Centre. We wonder if Gordon-Levitt will give Stewart a lesson on how to turn back time.
