Rita Ora is laying to rest all the rumours that she and rapper Drake are dating.
"We're really good friends actually. He has my back so it's really nice to know I have a guy that's a good friend like that," she told the press at a party in London yesterday. The shindig was a gathering to mark her new Drake-penned single, "R.I.P.," which hit No. 1 on iTunes.
The 21-year-old singer was romantically linked to Drake only a few weeks ago, when she broke up with her former flame Rob Kardashian and began spending more time with the Canadian rapper. They reportedly even gave each other jewelry! But if Ora is to be believed, those were purely professional gifts to celebrate a track well made.
It's natural that people would assume the pair would make a cute couple, since Ora is consistently compared to Drake's ex, Rihanna -- a comparison Ora's just fine with. Drake, on the other hand, was recently spotted on what looked like a romantic Disneyland date with "America's Next Top Model" host Tyra Banks.
A connection with Drake seems to have given a boost to Rita Ora's debut. Maybe Tyra's planning to reignite her music career too!
