Rachel McAdams is one proud Canadian. Not only is she super excited to attend local hockey games (and appear on the jumbotron), McAdams also supports economic equality at home. The "Notebook" actress bundled up in a hooded jacket and thick scarf last weekend to participate in the Occupy Bay Street protest in Toronto. (See the full photo here.)
The protest, which began Oct. 15, saw hundreds of Canadians come out to voice their displeasure with economic problems in Canada, such as income inequality and job layoffs. The event was modeled after the Occupy Wall Street protest in New York City, which has attracted thousands of supporters and seen hundreds of arrests in the past few weeks.
While McAdams is the first big star to make an appearance at the Occupy Bay Street protest, the New York equivalent has been attracting a number of celebrities. According to the New York Daily News, fellow Canuck Mike Myers showed up to support the New York protesters, as did Kanye West, Alec Baldwin, and Susan Sarandon, among other big names.
