It has been almost one whole week since reports surfaced about Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez breaking up, and it turns out a little heartbreak isn't going to slow down these two young stars.
But in Bieber's case, it seems like the cops can. The 18-year-old pop star was pulled over by the Los Angeles PD on Tuesday evening as he was driving a white Ferrari around West Hollywood. TMZ reports that Bieber's offense was an unsafe left turn, and police ticketed the "Beauty and a Beat" singer for having an expired registration. But don't get the white Ferrari involved in this incident confused with the black Ferrari Bieber crashed in 2011, or the chrome-covered Fisker Karma in which he was caught speeding this past July.
According to reports, Bieber had a guy friend in the passenger's seat at the time, which means the ride could have been a much-needed way to blow off some steam on his day off after a few busy days performing in Boston and Brooklyn, and nabbing three MTV Europe Awards for best male singer, best pop star, and best world stage on Sunday. All this, of course, follows a very public breakup with 20-year-old Gomez on Saturday.
That breakup might make Bieber's upcoming interview with Oprah Winfrey a little uncomfortable, which was recorded while the teen power couple was still together. In the teaser tweeted out by Bieber on Monday, the interview is said to reveal Bieber's thoughts about "his growth as an artist, the pitfalls of fame, living in the spotlight and his relationship with Selena Gomez." It should be a little awkward, and not only because he seems to be feasting on a gourmet meal of fries, ketchup, and mayonnaise.
If the interview isn't enough to keep Gomez on his mind, her first public appearance since the split won't help. She stunned the red carpet in a lacy white dress and a messy updo on Monday night, at Glamour's Women of the Year Awards in New York City.
It's no wonder there are now rumours that Bieber desperately wants to get back with Gomez after they quietly met up on Monday night. She reportedly went clubbing with friends after her dinner with Bieber, and saw a long list of missed calls and texts from him at the end of the night, according to the New York Daily News.
It seems there could still be a happy ending for this teen dream couple, but it might have to wait until both of them have calmer schedules before they can work it out.
