Justin Bieber may be 18, he may have a top-selling record, and he may have graduated high school - but apparently he's still not getting the respect he deserves!
In an off-air interview with the Detroit radio show Mojo in the Morning, Bieber let it be known that he will not be pushed around by jovial, complimentary radio talk show hosts.
He will also not tolerate being compared to Justin Timberlake - possibly one of the most successful and talented musicians of the 2000s.
Hosts be warned: Do not mention One Direction's Harry Styles or whether he would date Mother Bieber. That will make the "Baby" singer hang up and end the conversation right there. And that's exactly what happened.
In the crackly cell phone interview (which you can find below), Bieber turns the chat from extremely pleasant and congratulatory, to downright hostile, awkward, and offensive (even inadvertently insulting Mojo's dead mother). Though Bieber did acknowledge that Timberlake is "definitely really talented" and the two share a similarity in both being white R&B musicians, Mojo mistaking "Boyfriend" as a JT track was strike #1. And despite being "definitely somewhat" friends with One Direction, whom Justin thinks are "good kids," bringing his mother into the conversation was strike #2. And apparently when you're an international pop superstar, that's all that's needed for a walk-out (or the phone equivalent).
Reactions to the interview (which did not get Mojo suspended, after all) conclude that Bieber was being a little too touchy about the jokes. But maybe we're being too hard on him - he is, after all, touring incessantly upon the release of "Believe." He was also accosted and teased by David Letterman, and passed out that one time.
Was Bieber being a Baby, or a Man? Listen to the interview and decide for yourself:
