Joshua Jackson will do anything for girlfriend Diane Kruger -- he'll even let her dress steal the spotlight from him.
The 33-year-old Canadian actor stepped aside Sunday night during the closing night of the Cannes film festival, so that Kruger and her extravagant Christian Dior dress could really shine.
Photographers snapped Cannes jury member Kruger in her larger-than-life full-skirted plaid frock, as her boyfriend waited on the sidelines to be snapped only once with his date, escorting her into the ceremony.
Though he was back by her side for the winners' dinner, it was still a surprising move, considering Jackson has been firmly by his well-dressed girlfriend's side throughout the 12-day festival. In fact, the only Cannes event Jackson missed out on was Kruger's jury photo call on May 16, the first day of the festival.
Jackson joined Kruger on the second day of the festival, when they were photographed at the Women In Film celebration. The next day, the German actress and her Vancouver-born boy toy attended the Haiti Carnival before taking a break for one night.Left: At the premiere of 'Amour.' Then, on May 20, Jackson proved what a great boyfriend he is by acting as umbrella holder for Kruger at the screening of Michael Haneke's "Amour" (which went on to win the Palme d'Or) before escorting her to the fest's 65th Anniversary Party.
Jackson and his lady love were back on the red carpet on Tuesday for a screening of Brad Pitt's new thriller "Killing Them Softly." The pair then took a brief sojourn in the nearby town of Monaco, where he bought Kruger a Carla Amorim necklace (not an engagement present, mind you) at a gala fundraiser.
The A-list duo made a quick stop in the resort town of Antibes on Thursday for the 2012 amfAR's Cinema Against Aids event, retuning to Cannes for the last three days of the festival before flying out of the riviera on Monday.
Ah, the life of a really ridiculously good-looking Hollywood couple.
