Joshua Jackson may enjoy watching girlfriend Diane Kruger fire a gun, but what really gets his flame burning is her wearing a wig.

On Monday, the duo attended the New York premiere of "Farewell, My Queen," in which Kruger plays French monarch Marie Antoinette who, in her final days of power, forges a strong relationship with a young servant girl.

"I definitely made the effort to go see her in the full queen regalia," Jackson told reporters at the event. "It was sexy -- period, full stop."

But that wasn't all the 34-year-old Canadian had to say about his gal pal's 18th-century duds.

"It was kind of a kinky fetish thing with the wigs and the corsets," he added. "I don't know how [people] survived that period. Foreplay must've been a sonofabi---. It takes a nation of millions to get those things on and off."

Kruger is no stranger to period costumes, having appeared as Helen of Troy in 2004's "Troy," as a contemporary of Beethoven's in "Copying Beethoven," and as a World War II actress in "Inglourious Basterds."
