Just like the new kid at elementary school, it can be tough for some actors as the new guy on the film set. But Jim Carrey, currently filming "Kick Ass 2" in London, knows exactly how to fit in with crowd.

The 50-year-old Ontario-born comedian took the film's cast and crew on a £100,000 (about $160,000 Canadian) private booze cruise down the River Thames, providing the commentary and historical guides himself.

"He didn't get a single point of interest right, but his version of London's history was much more entertaining," a source told the U.K. Sun.

There's no word about what Jim Carrey's history of London consisted of, exactly, but we can just imagine what the comedic genius/lunatic from "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" and "The Mask" came up with.

In addition to his off-the-cuff waterfront tour, Carrey also dazzled his audience with a rendition of "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" by Scottish rockers The Proclaimers. Among those entertained by Carrey's antics were "Kick-Ass" co-stars Chloe Grace Moretz (who plays Hit-Girl), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Red Mist) and Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass). Some sources say Nicholas Cage was there as well, giving hope to rumours of a cameo from his character from the first film, Big Daddy.

Carrey -- who will appear in "Kick-Ass 2" as Colonel Stars, the leader of the vigilante justice group Justice Forever -- isn't the only new face in the sequel. Donald Faison will also star as Captain Gravity and John Leguizamo will play one of Red Mist's bodyguards, Javier.

Colonel Stars reportedly isn't a huge part, but is integral to the storyline, so producers were thrilled when an iconic comedian like Carrey signed on for the role. But all this is leading to some high expectations for the quality of "Kick-Ass 2," because not only is it worth Carrey's time, but he's also diverting his attention and devotion to the cast and crew, and away from his rumoured new girlfriend, 26-year-old Irish makeup artist Cathriona White.
