Many girls dream about the day the man of their dreams asks for their hand in marriage. Calgary-born actress Elisha Cuthbert was probably one of them, so it's really too bad she can't remember a thing about her actual proposal.

Last night on "Conan" with Conan O'Brien, the 29-year-old revealed that although it was "wonderful" to get engaged to her boyfriend of five years, Toronto Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf, the shock of it was a little overwhelming.

"It all happened, he was talking to me, I saw a box, and it just went...black," the star of "24" and "Happy Endings" told O'Brien. "I know it went well because we're planning a wedding. I know I must have said all the right things."

"When you came to, was he like 'YOU SAID YES!'" joked Andy Richter, beside the show's other celebrity guest last night, Rainn Wilson.

"'You said you were going to do it, and you're going to do it!'" O'Brien followed.

Since Phaneuf is a big, burly hockey player, it's easy to joke about his intimidating presence, but Cuthbert was nothing but excited as she talked about the proposal.

"It was just such a surreal moment. It took my breath away and I was very shocked and stunned and excited," she said.

In preparation for the big day, both she and her mother have taken up Zumba classes to get in shape, which Cuthbert demonstrated in her chair.

Cuthbert is currently one of the stars of the sitcom "Happy Endings," which is currently airing its third season Tuesdays on ABC and Citytv.
