Marilyn Manson might have felt a little bit nervous before his concert in Toronto this past weekend. After all, it was only last month that he seriously dissed Napanee, Ont.'s claim-to-fame Avril Lavigne -- and by extension, all of Canada.

In a July interview with the U.K. website Entertainment Wise, the 43-year-old gothic rocker addressed rumours that he and the "Sk8er Boi" singer were romantically involved, and he was blunt. "Yesterday I read that I was dating Avril Lavigne, and I was like 'What the f--- was that? She's Canadian, I wouldn't do that,'" he said.

That's harsh, even for a guy who has a track titled "Murderers Are Getting Prettier Every Day" on his latest album, "Born Villain." But he made amends (kind of) at the Heavy T.O. Festival in Toronto on Sunday, and in the process, claimed that the rumours about him and Lavigne were actually true.

They may have had a rocky relationship on "Alias" but former co-stars Jennifer Garner and Victor Garber were all hugs and smiles during a "family" reunion yesterday.

Six years after the end of the ABC spy drama, in which Garber played spy-daddy Jack to Garner's CIA agent Sidney Bristow, the duo met up again on Broadway, where the 63-year-old Canadian actor had just given his first cabaret performance at New York's 54 Below.

Garner gave her on-screen pa a teary hug and proceeded to share with him cellphone photos of her and Ben Affleck's three children. They also posed for photos with Canadian comedian Eugene Levy.

Celebrity weddings are often a fairy-tale event, and this past weekend in Vancouver, the gnarly troll finally nabbed his tall, blond princess.

At least, that's the way Zach Galifianakis and now-wife Quinn Lundberg portrayed themselves on their wedding invitations this past June. And sure, we can't deny the fact that the 42-year-old funnyman from "The Hangover" and "Bored to Death" makes for an odd match for the stunning 29-year-old ballerina turned philanthropist (she co-founded the organization Growing Voices).

But, proving that opposites really do attract, Galifianakis wed the Alberta native this past weekend in Vancouver, B.C.

Woody Harrelson is wearing a few different hats when it comes to the play "Bullet for  Adolf," currently playing Off-Broadway. He's the co-writer, the director, the inspiration (the play is semi-autobiographical), and sometimes, when his celebrity friends are in the audience, the security guard.

According to the New York Daily News, hunky Canadian and all-around good guy Ryan Gosling went to see a performance of "Bullet for Adolf" in New York last Friday. But, as is bound to happen when you're Gosling, he soon found himself the centre of attention instead. When intermission hit, a large number of frenzied female fans reportedly turned their focus onto Gosling, allegedly swarming the "Notebook" actor in the lobby of the New World Stages theatre.

Mark Wahlberg seems to be reliving his childhood -- first he talked to teddy bears, now he's championing Justin Bieber.

The "Ted" star, who is currently working on a big-screen vehicle for the Canadian singer, says Biebs will be coming to a cinema near you next year, "if I have anything to do with it."

"He's focused and he wants to have success in the movie world and acting as well," Wahlberg told E! Online in a new interview, adding, "I think we have good chemistry and, like I said, he's right for this particular part and it's an idea we've had for a while."

There's going to be havoc and bright lights, but Alanis Morissette seems to be prepared.

The Ottawa native, who releases her new album "Havoc and Bright Lights" at the end of the month, may be the new fourth judge on "American Idol."

Morissette started the rumour herself yesterday morning during a radio interview with CBS.

"I'm in talks with somebody right now," she said. "I can't name any names, but I'm pretty excited at the thought of doing it more formally."

The woman who once mooned MuchMusic viewers is over the moon about playing Canadian MP Olivia Chow.

Sook-Yin Lee, former MuchMusic VJ and current host of CBC Radio's "Definitely Not the Opera," says she is "humbled and honoured" after being cast as late NDP leader Jack Layton's wife in "Smilin' Jack: The Jack Layton Story."

She will star opposite Rick Roberts, a little-known Canadian actor; you may remember him from his role as Donald D'Arby in the Canadian drama "Traders." He has also appeared in the Canuck series "Little Mosque on the Prairie" and "Republic of Doyle." To play Layton, Roberts reportedly had to learn to speak French and Cantonese and to play the guitar.

"The most intriguing part has been trying to embody his passion for life, his generosity, and his resolve to follow his vision in spite of overwhelming odds," Roberts said of Layton in a statement.

It looks like Jessica Paré's breakout performance of "Zou Bisou Bisou" on "Mad Men" was just a warm-up.

The 29-year-old Montreal actress appeared to channel Megan Draper as she took the stage during a Jesus and Mary Chain concert in Toronto on Friday.

In a little black dress like the one she wore in the Season 5 premiere of the '60s-set AMC drama, Paré performed the band's hit song "Just Like Honey" with lead singer Jim Reid.
