I watched Justin Bieber's speech at the Billboard Music Awards, the one he made after he was booed. Is he deliberately trying to tick off fans or what?

      — L. Labile

Oh, don't stop with Bieber's entitled whining at the Billboards. There's that small matter of the baby capuchin monkey the singer accepted as a gift ... only Bieber kind of forgot that the animal needed, you know, vaccinations and import papers. Mally the monkey subsequently got confiscated during the German leg of Bieber's concert tour, leaving the Teutons to rack up the expenses for Mally's care.

Bieber also has indulged in righteous Twitter rants about his music sales; posted myriad photos of himself shirtless; complained about having the "worst birthday ever" because a club wouldn't accommodate his underage friends; added Holocaust victim Anne Frank to his horde of groupies; allegedly spat in somebody's water bottle; and shared a recent snapshot of himself palling around with noted Chris Brown.

      So, yeah: Either Bieber

Move over, Genevieve Sabourin! Canada has another alleged celebrity stalker on its hands. But this time Jennifer Lawrence is the target, not Alec Baldwin.

Han Cong Zhao, a 23-year-old Vancouver resident, is reportedly being held at a Louisville, Kentucky corrections facility after being charged with stalking and harassing the "Hunger Games" star's family.

According to USA Today, the former university student contacted Lawrence's brother, Blaine, more than 200 times from Canada. Louisville's WKL reports that Zhao found Blaine through a summer camp the actress's family runs in Jefferson County.

Police said that when Blaine didn't reply, the B.C. resident hopped on a plane and flew to Louisville on April 18. That same day, he reportedly visited the local police department, where he asked how he could contact Lawrence's parents.

Will Ryan Gosling's fans forgive him for skipping Cannes? They should, because he has a perfectly good reason.

On Wednesday, the 32-year-old Canadian actor missed the international premiere of "Only God Forgives," his latest collaboration with director Nicolas Winding Refn. In the film, Gosling plays a boxing club owner whose mother (Kristin Scott Thomas) urges him to take action after his brother is killed.

The Ontario native did send his regrets to France and gave a good excuse for his absence: his directorial debut, "How to Catch a Monster," is currently shooting in Detroit.

At the "Only God Forgives" press conference Wednesday, as Scott Thomas and Winding Refn looked on, Cannes film festival director Thierry Frémaux reportedly read in French the letter Gosling sent in his place.

"I can't believe that I'm not in Cannes with you. I was hoping to be coming but I am in the third week of shooting my movie. I miss you all," he wrote. "Nicolas, my friend, we really are the same, simply in different worlds and I am sending you good vibrations. I am with you all."

Drake stayed classy this weekend with the rest of the "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" cast.

On the the heels of "Anchorman 2's" most recent teaser, the 26-year-old "Crew Love" singer was photographed on the set of Will Ferrell's upcoming sequel. Though little has been revealed about the follow-up to 2004's "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy," the film reunites the eponymous San Diego newsman (Ferrell), his lady love Veronica Conringstone (Christina Applegate) and the rest of his newsroom posse as they travel from California to New York in the '70s.

Production has been in full swing since March, and on May 18, Drake was seen sporting an era-appropriate afro, some serious muttonchops and a leather Members Only jacket -- not to mention some natty acid-wash jeans. He was snapped checking out Ferrell and co-star Applegate as they strolled by him outside Radio City Music Hall.

On Monday, the Toronto musician posted an Instagram photo from the set, with producer Judd Apatow. "Me and one of my heroes," he captioned it after what appeared to be a quick one-day shoot for the busy musician (he appeared to jump on a jet a day later to fly to Barcelona).

Drake joins a growing list of cameos for the Dec. 20 release. Fellow Canadian Jim Carrey will reportedly have a small role, as will Kanye West, Sacha Baron Cohen, Tina Fey, Nicole Kidman and Kirsten Dunst, among others.

Taylor Swift made it clear on Sunday night at the Billboard Music Awards that she is not a "Jelena" fan.

First, there was the awesome video that captured Swift sticking her tongue out in disgust after she spotted her BFF Selena Gomez attempting to lock lips with her maybe on-again beau Justin Bieber. (Sadly, he turned his head and she only got some cheek action.) Now, there is more footage of the "22" singer hinting at the fact that she's definitely not a Belieber.

    • Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder in "Edward Scissorhands." (20th Century Fox)

What do Johnny Depp and a 505-million-year-old B.C. lobster have in common? Not much — except their name.

After discovering an extinct spider ancestor with "scissor hand-like claws," a British scientist has named the fossil Kooteninchela deppi to "honour" the "Edward Scissorhands" star. The scientist admitted to being a "Depp fan."

For those of you who may not remember the 1990 Tim Burton fantasy, Depp played an artificial man who had sharp blades in place of his hands.

"When I first saw the pair of isolated claws in the fossil records of this species, I could not help but think of Edward Scissorhands," said Imperial College London researcher David Legg in a news release. "Even the genus name, Kooteninchela, includes the reference to this film, as ‘chela’ is Latin for claws or scissors."

Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne, the royal couple of Canadian pop rock, were spotted flying from Los Angeles to New York City on Wednesday.

The couple looked a perfect pair, dressed in all black with matching leather jackets, bleached blond hair, and dark aviator sunglasses as they marched through LAX to catch their flight to JFK airport in New York. Lavigne had her 14-carat diamond engagement ring in full view as she posed for a photo with the Nickelback frontman.

Lavigne was on the West Coast to perform in KIIS FM’s Wango Tango concert on Saturday, followed by press interviews on E! News and "Access Hollywood," and finally, a performance on the 300th episode of “Dancing With the Stars.” As Lavigne promotes her new single, “Here’s to Never Growing Up,” and an upcoming album, Kroeger has been along for the ride. He even rocked, danced, and sang along to a secret show she gave last week at the Viper Room in Hollywood.

According to Lavigne's Twitter feed, Chavril made the cross-country trip to celebrate the birthday of her lead guitarist, Devin Bronson.

Katie Holmes is currently filming her first major film since her infamous split from Tom Cruise – and it looks to be pretty steamy. The actress was spotted on the streets of Manhattan’s Lower East Side this week filming a romantic-looking scene by a church.

Dressed in a raggedy t-shirt and shorts, she held hands and canoodled with another man, also dressed in a T-shirt and jeans. While the film, “Mania Days” by director Spike Lee, will no doubt get a lot of buzz because of Holmes's involvement, her co-star should be getting his fair share of attention, too. Hamilton-born actor Luke Kirby is the handsome devil everyone’s talking about – and it won't be the last time you’ll hear his name. Here’s what you should know about Luke before he hits the big time:

Poor Martin Short has to write a memoir ... Just kidding! (Sort of.) The 63-year-old Canadian comedian has announced he is set to write a book about his life and career for Harper. In his statement about the book, Short quipped that he is doing so because he is broke.

“I haven’t named my book yet, but I’m toying with the title ‘If I’d Saved, I Wouldn’t Be Writing This,’ ” Short said in a statement released by Harper on Sunday.

According to the New York Times, the book will drop in fall 2014 and will cover Short's career, from "SCTV" to "Saturday Night Live" to his film roles, as well as his three-decade marriage. “Although I’ve never read a book all the way through, I’m sure excited to write one,” he joked.

    • Justin Bieber guest stars on "The Simpsons." (Fox)

Justin Bieber fans were dealt a devastating blow on Sunday night when their idol's much-hyped appearance on "The Simpsons" turned out to be only 10 seconds long. In the scene, the swish-haired singer kicks off after he is denied entry into a talent contest for children under 10.

"That's another 25 bucks we'll never see!' he exclaims.

Slightly funnier was the text that appeared onscreen before and after the Ontario native's appearance, which spoofed Bieber's fans' infamous passion.

"Thirty seconds to Justin Bieber -- you may start or stop watching, according to your beliefs," one read.

After he appeared, another message appeared: "All clear -- 'The Simpsons' will be Bieber-free from this point on."

Over the weekend, "Simpsons" producer Al Jean admitted the Biebs was shoehorned into the show after creator Matt Groening requested it.

"I think he has a family member who was a fan," Jean told Rolling Stone. "I think he's a fan, too. So he asked us to find a place to use him. I think [Bieber] had also met Matt and wanted to be on the show."

But Sunday wasn't a complete bust for all Bieber fans. For Mother's Day, the pop star serenaded his mother, Pattie Mallette, with his hit tune "One Less Lonely Girl" onstage during his South African concert.
