    Celebrity vacations gone bad

While it's easy to idealize celebrity getaways, sometimes a vacation can go very, very badly for a star, and it's important to remember that having millions of dollars doesn't always protect you from chaos. Take a look at some celebrity vacations that went wrong.

    Olivia Wilde

The "Cowboys and Aliens" actress took her new beau, "Saturday Night Live" star Jason Sudeikis, with her to Jamaica in early 2012. But, as Wilde told David Letterman later on, the romantic trip went downhill when the couple fell out of their kayaks in choppy water. Even once they were rescued by some fishermen, the pain didn't end there.

"We got to shore and we got our courage back and we decided to do something safer. So, we went out to a little floaty island about 15 feet from shore, and on my way back in I got stung by a swarm of jellyfish," Wilde told Letterman. "So then I crawled out and I was covered in welts. And Jason, of course, is still stuck on the floaty island looking at me like, 'I can't get in there.' So I had to go and get the same rescue team to come back with a kayak to get him."

    Tina Fey

The "30 Rock" star was looking forward to a relaxing honeymoon with husband Jeff Richmond in 2001. But things on their cruise ship got way too hot — it caught on fire!

"The ship was on fire, so we had to go and stand by our lifeboats... and we really had to stand women and children in the front, men in the back, and I remember holding hands with my husband, thinking like, 'Oh my gosh, we're gonna be one of those people on the news that died on their honeymoon!'" Fey recalled. "And [Jeff] said he was thinking, 'It's gonna be so hard for her when they bring the lifeboats down and she stays with me'. I was thinking, 'It's gonna be so hard for him when I get on that lifeboat.'"

    Solange Knowles

The sister of Beyonce was having a grand old time in Morocco in February 2012 — maybe too good a time, because she accidentally missed her flight back to North America!

"So horrible," Solange told Us Weekly of the ordeal. Luckily, the star eventually made it back home.
