Sure, hosting a famous guest can translate into great PR for a hotel, but “it can also be a mixed bag,” admits Mark Plonkey, the general manager of Denver’s Hotel Teatro. “The one thing I’ve learned throughout the years is that public persona is not always the reality behind closed doors.”

According to most hotel managers that Travel + Leisure spoke with, most conflicts with celebrities are pretty mundane, and often result from overzealous “handlers:” demands for discounts or precise requests like a bowl of single-colored M&Ms. But other hotels know that debauchery can be good for business. “We embrace the spirit of rock ’n’ roll,” says Brandon Powers, creative director of the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. “They can trash their room or even take a donkey up there, so long as we don’t have to clean up after it in the casino. It takes a lot for us to ask someone to leave.”

Before New York magazine debuted its fall fashion cover star, the 31-year-old socialite tweeted, "Happy Sunday," with a photo of herself in a black bathing suit (not a bikini, surprisingly) in the Hawaiian surf, her famous rear end facing the camera.

In response to whether her curvalicious "tail" was natural, Kardashian quipped, "Yes but my fins aren't. Sorry to disappoint you."

Keibler, who has been photographed on several shopping trips during her summer stay in Italy, looked like she just finished a modeling shoot as she boarded the boat in paisley pants, a floppy hat, and carried a Chanel bag.

The seemingly happy couple has been hosting guests at Clooney's posh villa all summer. The latest visitors to get the VIP treatment? Newsman Chris Wallace and his wife, Lorraine. They were the reason behind Clooney and Keibler's water adventure as they gave them a tour of the beautiful lake community. Clooney's home is in the small town of Laglio, which is on the south-western branch of Lake Como.

On vacation in St. Tropez, Simon Cowell looked a little pink from a day spent under the strong, hot French Riviera sun. But that didn't stop him from getting a good look at a couple of moons.

The "The X Factor" exec and former "American Idol" judge went shirtless on a rented yacht, as his friend and "Britain's Got Talent" judge David Walliams joined Sir Elton John on another boat nearby. As the two boats passed each other, Walliams and Sir Elton both reportedly pulled down their drawers and really gave Cowell something to scowl at.

Sadly, there isn't any photographic evidence, but Walliams did tweet, "I just mooned Simon Cowell. From a boat. That is true." Later, he also wrote,"And then someone a million times more well known than me mooned Simon Cowell too," including link to this article in The Sun about Elton John's participation in the prank.

It looks like new co-stars John Travolta and Robert De Niro have become fast friends.

The Hollywood heavyweights, who are currently starring together in an action movie called "The Killing Season," have been photographed vacationing together this summer.

Kelly Preston, Travolta's wife, was most recently snapped aboard a yacht owned by Australian businessman James Packer. Meanwhile, De Niro was photographed driving a sea-doo nearby.

Sylvester Stallone and his family are picking up the pieces just weeks after his eldest son, Sage, was found dead in his Los Angeles home of an apparent overdose. The "Expendables 2" star took his wife of 15 years, former model Jennifer Flavin, and their three daughters on a yacht, which toured the Mediterranean for days before it moored in France on Tuesday. Once it came to rest, the family seemed to find some solace in the sun, although the patriarch remained with a grim expression on his face.

Later, they family of five headed to dry land as a united front. Stallone, 43-year-old Flavin, and little Scarlet all walked arm in arm, with Sophia and Sistine close by as they strolled into a nearby hotel lobby.
