Now that Robert Pattinson is mere days from the premiere of "Breaking Dawn -- Part 2," the final installment in the "Twilight" saga, he has become pretty laissez-faire in his interviews. The actor is often seen making sarcastic jokes and revealing slightly embarrassing details about the filming process throughout the last five vampire romance movies.
The latest detail he revealed to MTV News has to do with the very first day Pattinson spent on the set of "Twilight." And it also has to do with his butt.
"We were doing the fight scene at the end of the first one, and I tore my glute -- well, almost tore it, basically in my second shot of the whole movie, of the whole series," Pattinson recalled. While his vampire counterpart Edward Cullen could stop speeding trucks with one hand, Pattinson quickly learned that he himself was far from invincible.
"[They] had to get a physiotherapist to come in and massage my butt cheek for the rest of the day," the 26-year-old told MTV. "That was the most prep I've ever put into a movie. I was there for three months working out and stuff. I was at my peak, my physical prime, and then... ass done. The ass is out!"
The British actor, who has also appeared in "Water for Elephants" alongside Reese Witherspoon and starred in David Cronenberg's "Cosmopolis," has been rather outspoken in a string of interviews recently. On the Australian talk show "Kyle And Jackie O," Pattinson even offered his opinion of the sex scenes he filmed with on-again girlfriend and co-star Kristen Stewart in "Breaking Dawn -- Part 2."
"The sex scene in this one is pretty ridiculous," Pattinson said. "It's just because you're kind of shooting stuff to be PG-13... It can't just be a normal sex scene. It's supposed to be about, like, the greatest vampire sex you've ever had."
In another interview, he said, "I should be a director, just for sex scenes. Other than that I just remember staring into the camera and trying to make sexy faces and I don't think it got in the movie."
And in a guest appearance on "The Ellen Degeneres Show," Pattinson joked about a possible sequel to the "Twilight" saga that puts Edward on an entirely different path.
"Make it a 'Twilight'-slash-'Avengers,'" he joked with Ellen and his "Twilight" co-star, Taylor Lautner. "I was also thinking another way to do it would be to make it look like 'Will and Grace,' where Edward turns gay. But [Edward and Bella] still stay together and they raise the kid and everything."
Now that Pattinson is loosening up in his interviews and revealing some juicier details (especially pertaining to his backside), we're starting to feel very sad taht this is the final "Twilight" press he'll ever do.
