She may be a mom on the screen, but who knew "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart had the maternal instinct in real life?

In the upcoming "Breaking Dawn-Part 2," the final installment in the "Twilight" series, 22-year-old Stewart plays a mom to Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy), her daughter with vampire hubby Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson).

And at the San Diego Comic-Con panel for the film, Stewart's protective side reportedly emerged. The actress was photographed covering her ears while "Twilight" scribe Stephenie Meyer covered Foy's so that the 11-year old actress wouldn't hear them discuss the sex scenes that take place in "Part 2."

"Mackenzie, go away," Stewart quipped before whispering the word "sex" to the room and claiming the series was not supposed to be "raunchy."

"[In] the second one, we just wanted to be animals," Stewart explained. "They're not humans anymore. How do you do that? We tried. They told us it was rated R."

No doubt the studio has faith in its heroine's abilities, considering Stewart recently became the highest-paid actress in the world (she earned approximately $34.5 million over the past year).
