Remember when we thought we were geniuses by adding a dress over our jeans in the 1990s? Come on, admit it. There's no need to be embarrassed. But as it turns out, like most geniuses, we were just ahead of our time.

Since becoming an overnight household name at the age of nine in the "Harry Potter" movies, 22-year-old British actress Emma Watson has really come into her own lately with her unique, mature, and modern fashion sense. But at the Wednesday night screening of her new film "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" in London, her all-black Dior dress-over-pants outfit choice (not to mention the heart Tiffany & Co. pendant necklace) hit us with a hurricane of nostalgia.

    • Miley Cyrus talks about her new tunes. (WireImage)

It was just last year that Miley Cyrus was wrapping up "Hannah Montana" on the Disney Channel, and she didn't waste any time leaving her former child star status behind. Not only has the 19-year-old since become engaged to her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, but she's also making some big moves in her career. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the singer/actress revealed that fans can expect some new music from her — soon. "I'm thinking hopefully November for a single," she told the magazine. "It's just whenever we feel we've got that [song] we feel really confident in being the first single. I've got songs right now I feel like could potentially be singles, [but] it's been two years that I haven't said anything, and I want that to be the right thing we say." Of course, the more grown-up Cyrus has been more involved in this album than in previous efforts. "I worked with Pharrell on a bunch of things, and Pop & Oak, and I've just been writing, mostly, focusing on what I want to say, rather than turning it into a label later and not knowing what my sound is going to be."

    • One Directioners just couldn't wait! The first single from the British boy band's upcoming second album, Take Me Home, wasn't set to debut until next month. But fans were so excited to see part of the music video for the song that leaked online Thursday, that the band released both the song and the entire accompanying video for it early. The clip for the catchy "Live While We're Young" shows the guys — Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson — camping out, tossing each other in a pool, and generally doing things that will make teen girls swoon. The entire new 1D album comes out November 13.

Until then, check out the video for "Live While We're Young":

Directioners are as devoted (if not more so) to One Direction as Beliebers are to Justin Bieber, so it came as a surprise that they didn't mind Katy Perry flirting with the Brit boy band last night.

At the MTV Video Music Awards Thursday night, Katy Perry presented the award (and then proceeded to break it, oops!) for Best Pop Video to the boys, and made their teenage dreams come true by surprising each of the much younger musicians with a peck on the lips as they walked onto the stage.

"Wow, thank you very much Katy. Thanks for the kiss," front man Niall Horan said as he showed off the trophy (one of three the band won that night) to the crowd. The 18-year-old pop star was so proud of their PDA that he immediately took to Twitter to celebrate it.

"@katyperry looks like its official ... me and you," he tweeted with a photo of the kiss.

And Perry's reply was even more flirty.

    • Lauren Conrad poses with former flame Kyle Howard. (WireImage)FameFlynetLC has since moved on with new love William Tell. (FameFlynet)Lauren Conrad, 26, has been pretty private about her love life — well, you know, since 2009 when she stopped documenting it on TV in her sorta-reality show "The Hills." Which is why she chose not to speak publicly about what must have been a rather painful split from her boyfriend of three years, "My Boys" actor Kyle Howard, in June 2011. However, the former "Laguna Beach" star finally opened up about recovering from her heartbreak in the "Ask Lauren" advice column that she writes on her website. In response to a 25-year-old woman writing about the fact that she was sad her two best friends are engaged and she isn't yet, Conrad replied: "I don't think it's unusual to be nervous about feeling a bit behind relationship-wise when you are in your mid-twenties. One thing to keep in mind while you are attending weddings, showers, and other events celebrating your friends' relationships is that these aren't things you are missing out on. They are things you have to look forward

    • One Direction gets the comic book treatment

It's safe to say that many of the world's biggest pop stars look like they could be comic book characters - they've got big eyes and expressive facial features; their outfits are usually pretty over-the-top, and the lights and fireworks in their concerts could substitute for the backgrounds in intense battle sequences.

But now it's official - the story of One Direction is being turned into a comic book. Or to use the proper term, graphic novel.

"Fame: One Direction" starts at the beginning, with the band's introduction to each other and the world on the TV show "The X Factor" (featuring a cartoon cameo from Simon Cowell, of course). In addition to giving Niall, Zayne, Harry, Louis, and Liam each their own page, the book chronicles their journey from average teenage boys to international chart-topping, heart-stealing, Twitter-loving musical studs. A sneak peek of the book, written by Michael Troy and illustrated by Gustavo Rubio, has

A lot of teens and 20-somethings experience long distance relationships, whether or not they fall into young love after a summer fling or hold onto their high school sweetheart during university. And for most of them, the relationship is saved through text conversations, Skype sessions, and long-weekend trips every other month.

But when you're a 22-year-old country singing sensation or an 18-year-old member of the Kennedy family, the options are much more luxurious. For example, when Taylor Swift had to spend one heartsick week away from her new beau Conor Kennedy, she reportedly sent a private jet to bring him to Nashville.

Whether it was a decision made out of true love or blissful irrationality - it's clear that Swift has got it bad for the son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the late Mary Kennedy, even though they only started dating in July.

    • Aly Raisman hits the red carpet. (Getty Images)

Just a month ago, Aly Raisman was training for the 2012 Olympics in London, where she helped her teammates on the U.S. Women's gymnastics team bring home the gold medal, and earned individual medals in floor exercise (gold) and balance beam (bronze) while she was at it. Her life has changed just a little since then.

The 18-year-old Massachusetts native has traded in her daily seven-and-a-half hours worth of training sessions for lots of traveling and public appearances. Occasionally, she can even allow herself one of her favorite indulgences: cupcakes. Her schedule also regularly includes star-studded events. "We're going to go to the [MTV] VMAs September 6, so I'd love to meet Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber," Raisman reveals to omg! from Yahoo!. "I think all the girls on the team would agree with that."

Not that Raisman is looking to break up the Biebs and his girlfriend Selena Gomez. "Right now, I'm not looking for a boyfriend or anything," she notes. "I've just finished the Olympics, and I'm only 18 years old, so I'm just taking it day by day." However, Raisman has confessed that she wouldn't mind going on a date with Joe Jonas since he tweeted about the gymnastics team. (Another thing she would be open to is competing on "Dancing With the Stars," which cast fellow gymnast Shawn Johnson in 2009, if she was asked.)

Well, there's at least one member of the Kennedy clan who is not a fan of Taylor Swift. Victoria Gifford Kennedy, the mother of the bride in the Kennedy family wedding that Taylor and her boyfriend Conor Kennedy attended Saturday in Boston, has said some not-so-flattering things about the country cutie, including that Swift crashed her daughter Kyle's big day! Kennedy, who goes by Vicki, is the widow of the late Michael Kennedy, who died in a skiing accident in 1997, and was the son of Robert F. and Ethel Kennedy. She's also the aunt of 18-year-old Conor, the offspring of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (he's the son of Bobby and Ethel), and the late Mary Kennedy, who committed suicide in May. Are you still with me? Anyway, Vicki herself has revealed details to The Boston Herald. According to her, Conor had never RSVPed to the family bash, so she didn't expect her nephew, much less his spotlight-stealing girlfriend. "They texted me an hour before the wedding and asked if they could come,"
