Veteran Canadian stage actress Shirley Douglas is "fed up" with our star system -- or lack thereof.

The 78-year-old "Wind at My Back" star and her son Kiefer Sutherland attended Toronto's 11^th Annual ACTRA (Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists) Awards at The Carlu this weekend, where Rick Mercer handed Douglas the 2013 Award of Excellence for lifetime achievement.

But before she received her trophy on Saturday, the Saskatchewan native took aim at the CBC for not turning its actors into stars, the Canadian Press reports.

Christina Applegate is married ... with children.

While most of Hollywood was gearing up for the Oscars this weekend, the actress quietly tied the knot with Martyn LeNoble on Saturday.

"What a glorious day!" tweeted her groom, who was also the bassist for Porno for Pyros.

Applegate began dating the founding member of the defunct rock band in 2008. LeNoble, a 43-year-old native of the Netherlands, formed the group with Perry Farrell, Peter DiStefano, and Stephen Perkins in Los Angeles in 1992. They broke up six years later when guitarist DiStefano announced he had been diagnosed with cancer.

Bronson Pelletier could use his shape shifting skills right about now.

The 26-year-old "Twilight" star has just been slapped with two years of probation after pleading guilty to public intoxication relating to an incident at LAX two months ago, WENN reports.

Pelletier is an Alberta native who played shape-shifter Jared Cameron in "The Twilight Saga" starting with 2009's "New Moon." He was arrested in December after reportedly being removed from a plane at Los Angeles International Airport for unruly behaviour and urinating by a boarding gate.

The Who took their Quadrophenia tour to Hamilton, Ontario, earlier this week, and while guitarist Simon Townshend called it a "great crowd," his brother did not appear to feel the same way.

On Tuesday night, the iconic British rock band played the Copps Coliseum, and in the audience was American fan Eric Michael Costello and his 7-year-old daughter, Janey, who reportedly had never been to a concert before.

In a video from the gig, guitarist Pete Townshend is seen unleashing an expletive at Eric and Janey, who was holding up a sign which read, "Smash your guitar, Pete!"

Spoof master Weird Al Yankovich is known for riffing on popular music, but did you know that he wrote a song about Justin Bieber? Well, neither did he.

On Tuesday, "Canadian Idiot" reportedly started trending on Twitter, and those who were not familiar with Weird Al's 2006 song (a parody of Green Day's "American Idiot") were convinced that it referred to the Biebs.

"Canadian Idiot is supposed to be about a song, but we made it into Justin because that's just how we roll," tweeted one super fan.

Hélène Campbell has danced her way onto "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

The Ottawa lung transplant recipient, who suffers from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, appeared on the talk show Tuesday, a year after first tweeting to raise awareness about organ donation. Ten months after her surgery, she danced onto the show to Justin Bieber's "Baby" and cut a rug with the host.

"I can't believe I'm here!" Campbell squealed. "I'm shaking -- partially meds, partially just nerves."

The Canadian "Always On My Mind" singer has revealed in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight Canada that his pregnant wife, Luisana Lopilato, is craving flesh.

“Some women crave pickles or ice cream. My wife wants blood sausages. Sausage made of congealed blood,” he said. “And I promise you, she hated it her whole life and now she said, ‘Mike, I want some blood sausage,’ and it’s like, ‘What the hell?’”
