Jessica Chastain had more than one reason to smile at the Oscars on Sunday night. She was nominated for Best Actress for her role in “Zero Dark Thirty,” sure, but she was also visibly thrilled when she talked to “Extra” host Mario Lopez about her new love interest, Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo.

Phew! With a name like that, he must be a good catch. He's have to be to snag 35-year-old Chastain, the talented star of the stage and screen. Though she brought her grandmother down the red carpet at the Oscars, Chastain revealed that she was “very, very happy” with her romantic life.

“It’s a wonderful thing when a career does so well and your personal life goes so well,” she said.

What is a pop star to do when, at 18 years old, he has already conquered teen hearts all over the world? Look to the final frontier, of course.

“I wanna do a concert in space,” Justin Bieber tweeted on Saturday morning. Since the pop star from Stratford, Ont., is currently touring the United Kingdom and not a series of international space stations, it’s not clear what suddenly inspired these celestial aspirations.

But luckily enough for Bieber, who now boasts the largest following of anyone on Twitter, his desire didn’t float away into the great unknown. In fact, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration itself answered the call.

As we’ve said before, Ryan Gosling-themed merchandise has taken on a life of its own, and the demand for anything bearing the striking visage of the 32-year-old from London, Ont., doesn’t seem to be declining. In fact, the only person not interested in owning any Gosling merchandise is, well, Gosling.

In a video interview with Rotten Tomatoes promoting the 1940s-era crime drama “Gangster Squad,” Gosling was introduced to the work of New Zealand designer Colleen Pugh. The designer has taken the Gosling-themed household accessory craze to a whole new level with a line of tea towels bearing the actor's face.

We all know the saying “keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer.” But when it comes to the pair of Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert, it’s tough to tell if their ties are as friends or foes.

But on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" Thursday night, these two feuding funnymen buried the hatchet with -- what else? -- a duet at the piano.

“Ivory and ivory, I can tolerate you and you don’t mind me,” they sang in unison to the tune of the famous Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder collaboration “Ebony and Ivory.” The song continued with, “If Rihanna and Chris Brown can be friendly, why can’t we?”

Rihanna turned 25 this week, and she celebrated by visiting one of this planet's most beautiful locations: tropical Hawaii. She strolled on the beach, sat by the ocean, and went jet-skiing to mark the occasion – and by her side, not so surprisingly, was Chris Brown.

Breakup rumours swirled around the controversial couple last week after they reportedly avoided each other at a nightclub and spent Valentine’s Day apart (Rihanna texting her ex Drake may or may not have had anything to do with the rift). But any spat between the two singers seems to be over, after they were seen cuddling and walking hand-in-hand on vacation. She also posted a photo of the pair in a limo on Instagram, with the caption “Pour it up pour it up! #birthdaybehavior,” as well as several other photos of them celebrating birthdays past.

Since this couple can barely sneeze without making headlines, the story of their reunion was soon public knowledge. And readers voiced their concerns immediately.

The beautiful cast of “Spring Breakers” – Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Benson – looked especially ravishing for the film’s premiere in Berlin. But there was another attendee on the red carpet that also vied for the attention of photographers: German model and reality star Micaela Schaefer, dressed in a eye-catching and leg-baring black gown that seemed awfully familiar!

The 29-year-old former “Germany’s Next Top Model” contestant strutted in front of paparazzi in a dramatic velvet dress with large, puffy shoulders and a high modest neckline. But moving down past her waistline, the gown became far less conservative. With only a bodysuit underneath, several strips of fabric (barely) formed a skirt to cover Schaefer’s mile-long legs. With high platform grey heels, dark eye makeup, and her thick black hair pulled into a large side bun, Schaefer was definitely a standout on the red carpet. But still, it didn’t have nearly the impact that another similar look did last year.

One of the perks of having a birthday is getting to be the centre of attention – and that’s probably doubly true for Paris Hilton, who turned 32 on Feb. 17. So, when she and boyfriend River Viiperi went snowboarding the following day, she didn’t even let a little blood upstage her.

On Monday, Hilton posted a photo album that documents a nasty tumble that the 21-year-old Viiperi took on the slopes in Lake Tahoe, California, and the deep gash he suffered as a result. In the first shot, Viiperi is seen lying on a stretcher, and luckily he’s giving a thumbs-up to tell everyone he’s okay. But Hilton looks like she has other concerns, as she casually leans back on the emergency ski-doo in a bright yellow ski jacket with a fur trim hood and shades covering her eyes.

Anne Murray is one of Canada’s most beloved additions to the music industry and is well-loved worldwide, but there’s one place no one ever expected to see her: on an episode of “Family Guy.”

But that’s what happened this Sunday on the brassy and bawdy cartoon series about the Griffin family. In an episode titled “Chris Cross,” maniacal baby Stewie falls in love with Murray’s signature tune “Snowbird” after hearing it in the car with his mother, Lois.

“My god, who is this enchantress?” he asks when he comes across the song on the radio. “She sounds like an angel. It’s like her voice is putting my entire body in her mouth.”
